Caleb began his health and fitness career working as a personal trainer through his undergraduate years. He specialized in corrective exercise, with a heavy emphasis on educating those he worked with to create independence in progressing in their health journey. Following graduating from Bowling Green University with a doctorate in physical therapy, Caleb has been treating across all ages, from infants to elderly, and a variety of neurologic, orthopedic, and pediatric conditions. He continues to utilize his passion for people and education to give each of his patients not only therapy to improve their bodies, but the know-how and confidence to continue to elevate their functional experience within and beyond PT.

He is married to his wife, Lauren, who also works in the health and wellness field. They have three children, Sanni, Margo, and Boehm.
Prior to his current career, Caleb served in the United States Air Force as a crew chief on the A-10 Warthog.

Lee Mitchell is a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant with a degree from Mott Community College’s esteemed PTA program, class of 2020. With over four years of experience, Lee has developed a strong foundation in pediatric therapy, particularly in supporting children on the autism spectrum (ASD). His work focuses on helping young clients achieve their developmental milestones through personalized, compassionate care that integrates both clinical goals and family-driven objectives.
Lee’s approach is rooted in acute observation, creative problem-solving, and a firm belief in the power of joy and engagement in therapy. His ability to blend structure with fun makes him a favorite among children and families alike. In addition to his pediatric expertise, Lee is skilled in treating individuals with neuromuscular diagnoses across all age groups, bringing a thoughtful and individualized approach to therapy.

Sarah is a certified speech-language pathologist through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of Michigan. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in allied health sciences with an emphasis in speech-language pathology from Grand Valley State University and her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Eastern Michigan University. She has experience working extensively with both children and adults, supporting a wide range of speech, language, swallowing, voice, and cognitive-communication needs. Sarah has a passion for helping individuals of all ages communicate with confidence and independence.
Sarah is certified in LSVT LOUD®, allowing her to provide specialized voice therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. She also has experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), helping clients find the tools and systems that best support their unique communication styles. She has also worked heavily in supporting individuals with autism to build communication skills, whether verbally or nonverbally, to support everyday interactions. In addition, Sarah has experience assessing and treating swallowing disorders, working closely with individuals to develop safe and effective strategies for eating and drinking, with a focus on improving quality of life.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys running half-marathons and marathons, traveling to new places, and spending time with her husband, Joe and their dog, Zoey.

Malia is the Clinical Coordinator at Empowering Therapy Center, where she brings a deep commitment to equity, compassion, and community care. With a background in community outreach and public health, Malia has spent her time working with nonprofit organizations in Detroit focused on improving public health outcomes and addressing systemic barriers to care. The last two years she has worked as a clinical administrator for a PT, OT, ST private clinic helping the neurodivergent community members in southeast Michigan. Her experience on the ground has shaped her understanding of the unique needs within diverse communities and strengthened her passion for bringing equitable treatment to all. Malia is highly skilled in coordinating care across teams and systems, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive, person-centered support. Known for her collaborative spirit and strong sense of community, she plays a key role in fostering a welcoming environment where clients and clinicians alike can thrive.
